Relationship Patterns

Do you attract same kind of people or situations into your life? It is very common for us to find ourselves in almost the exact same scenario in terms of relationships just with a different person! These patterns can sometime hold us back from finding what we really want but sometimes we don’t even realise we are doing them or how they have come about. Awareness is the key to breaking them and freeing yourself up to find the relationship you really want.

Hidden Ambivalence

If you are single and wanting to be in a relationship, how much do you actually want one and are you doing anything to find one? Can you see very clear benefits to staying single? Ambivalence around wanting a relationship is one thing that can actually hold us back from meeting someone if we are not aware of it. Generally single people fit into 2 groups, both might say “ I want to be in a relationship” but one really means it and the other values something else equally or more importantly than being with someone. For example they might value highly their single lifestyle, their career, their freedom, ability to keep things to themselves or to avoid pain.

First Date Do’s and Don’ts

Why can’t I get beyond the first date?

Firstly, don’t panic. There are some charming rogues out there, who unfortunately apply the same principles to dating as they might to bird watching or train spotting. It ain’t the quality of the dates; it’s the quantity of the dates themselves. They just can’t help moving onto the next ‘challenge’ and it’s the pulling that counts, not the date itself – whether you have been to bed together or not. All very superficial, but there’s a fair few of ‘em out there.
